Every manuscript cited in the edition’s Manuscript Apparatus, from third-century papyri to medieval Gospel books. Filter them, sort them, and see how often each one agrees with the main text.

Manuscripts by century

How to read a card

  • Top band. The color shows the century; the numeral gives the date from Appendix D.
  • Large letter. The traditional letter or papyrus number. Manuscripts without one are known only by their GA number.
  • Agreement bar. Of the fifty variant units, the share where the manuscript’s own reading matches the main text of this edition. Readings supplied only by a later corrector are left out. A manuscript cited in only a few units can show 0% or 100% by chance.
  • Content. G Gospels, A Acts and Catholic Epistles, P Pauline Epistles and Hebrews, R Revelation.
